Edward Dexter Frank Garfield

Known as Frank, he was born in 1899 in Warmington and enlisted as Private 16149 in the West Yorkshire Regiment. He was wounded in the Nieppe Forest on Easter Sunday 1918.

The Peterborough Advertiser of the 1st June 1918 reads:

“Private E. F. Garfield, West Yorkshire Regiment of Warmington, was wounded in the right leg and is now in a military hospital in London. He is the fifth and youngest son of Mr and Mrs John Garfield of Warmington.”

After the war he spent a career with the Post Office.

He lived in Mayor’s Walk, Peterborough and died in 1985.
